The "Grave Grasse"

At the foot of the Alps, to the south of the moraine cirque is the Friuli plain with an ideal microclimate. It is protected to the north by the mountains and rapidly opens to the shores of the Adriatic.

This area was formed during the Quaternary period thanks to the combined action of glaciers, and later by rivers. It is characterized by imposing accumulations of gravel and rocks. These flat flood plains are called "Magredi" (literally poor lands, or "graves" in French).

In Fiume Veneto, without warning, the torrential character of the rivers of the Grave slow down, becoming calm, creating a flood plain unusually rich in lime and clay, the precious materials that are the very foundation of our project.

Furrowed by the Meduna, Noncello, and Fiume rivers, as well as many other streams, which gives an idea of the wealth of water resources in the area, we have been entrusted with these lands which are destined for great feats.
